Jan. 10 - How to Trick Your Brain into Interpreting Anything
About this Session
Have you ever read a story or a poem and just didn’t know what it might mean? Ever looked at a piece of art and struggled to find something to say about it? In this session you’ll learn how your brain goes about interpreting a new text, whether that’s a story, a poem, a painting, a movie, or a song. Then you’ll learn a technique that will help you interpret any new text, no matter how difficult it might be! In just over an hour you’ll level up as a student.

Some songwriters wait for inspiration. Others carry journals to capture language that sparks the imagination. But what if you absolutely had to write an original song in an hour? In this session you’ll learn a writing technique that bypasses inspiration, smashes writer’s block, and goes directly to the goal of writing original songs.

Have you ever wanted to create a website from scratch? In this session, students will learn the fundamentals of HTML, CSS, & JavaScript to build their very own web page. Learn the basics of building and designing a website! HTML for adding images and texts CSS for style and color JavaScript for interactivity and behavior. These skills are the foundation for web design and a great session for students who are interested in the internet and how websites come to life!
